Psalm 95 Responsive Reading

Leader: Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Congregation: Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Leader: For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods

Congregation:  In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also

Leader:  The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Congregation:  O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!  For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

The Lord’s Prayer
Group Reading
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, you kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread and forgive our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.  For your’s is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever, amen.

Teaching

All Authority is Delegated Authority

“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.”

-1 Corinthians 15:22-27

“When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.”

-Matthew 7:28-29
